A resume about one year more Austria City in Second life (Linden LAb).
The Year goes to the end and it was one of the most interesting year i had with a community that rocks like Mozart would due .

What happen in the last year in Virtual Austria City of Second life ?

Who are the Stars of Austria Live ?
Most of you are not so deep into it when you listen to an artist or watch an Avatar .But there is much more talent and creativity you can see behind of it
Here are the Top 3 Real Stars of our last year who make it what it was a terrific Musical experience with REAL Musical Stars.
Most of them play in real in front of big crowds for ticket prises usual for concerts. On the Austria Live Stage The EYE they play for by the Sim limit Avatars ,like a Private concert.

Played several times in Austria and was one of the first Artist who found the stage and field it with the soul and vibes of his great Jazz Tunes .
He just returned from a concert Tours in front of 10.000 Fans.

Second life Suicide Avatar Telport away

It was long time i doesn’t comment anything about the change and rumor what is going on on the Grid .As many of you read in other Blogs and Forums there was a massive change in politics on the Second life Grid .The radical prise rise for Light Sims kill many residents and there Projects .Linden rewind there announcement and slow down there prise range ,but the Glass was broken ,people don’t trust any more .

Moving to new Grids Open Sim Grid -Shipment get on the Arche noa .
As i read on the “Not Possible Blogs” and many others the real old and most creative groups of Builder and artist are turning there back to Second life .
There is a massive lack in development and support for the Backbone on the Grid .The one who build all of this nice and creative things you can see in SL.

As we follow for over 1.5 Year the Open Sim development Scene from version 0.1 on. We setup several regions for testing purpose and backup .As one of our main Regions get fully Delete .The Old Oesterreich Sim with the Grand wheel “Riesenrad” just get fully away not only from the Sim Linden Sim also deleted the Inventory of the Avatar who build it .The Sim was Owned by the Next Horizont Agency. Since then they lost the motivation and trust to build anything more on linden Sims.

Exit Strategies ,since 6 moth we continue to build and develop on our Open Sim regions and on a smooth exit strategy .They are not open to public yet but it would need not much to open it up and connect it to one of the Open space regions.
When i start there i don’t believe that any female avatar would move too a open Sim as there was no Dress and Clothes all standard Avatars ,But now i hear there are even more female than male Avatars about 1 Man to 9 Woman Avatars.

Could it be that the old Continents get soon nothing more than a prehistoric museum of the begin of the Virtual Worlds new Net structure .There was an old phrase “the Captain leave as the last person the Boat ” one year ago Robin Linden one of the leading Chief Captains of linden get fired .Shortly after
Phillip Linden get of his position of CEO on Linden .My alarms bells just get loud .
but we stay for one year more ,had done some real unique Events on the Grid .
Now the Power and motivation is over to help a company who doesn’t care about there residents. For Months i can’t use the standard client ,have to use alternative clients.

Wikis hardest critics about SL
You think its pessimistic ? read what the Wiki write about SL ,If they would take care about there own platform they would not allow that.There PR Officer just lean back some where on a virtual Beach .Non Professionalism doing here a very bad job. As i already mention on some Business Forums on second Commerce .
Even the bigger Group leaders turning there back to the Grid .Why ?

For some reason some communities are still growing and are heavily interested in Virtual environment leading Countries are the Brazilian ,Portuguese ,Italian yes and New zealand .Countries with heavy temperament and real creative Cultures in Design and Social interaction in real and virtual Lives.

Universitäts Professor Susan Crawford sowie Professor Kevin Werbach werden für den berreich telekomunications Politik die nötigen Veränderungen durchführen .
Sie sind beider langzeit SL Nutzer zwar nicht regelmässig doch sehr gut versiert ihn den möglichkeiten und potenzial von virtuellen Welten .
Hr. Werbach erklärt der Business Week warum er einen Video Stream für die Supernova Konfernez nach SL.

3 alternative ways to move your Avatar in Virtual Worlds

This is for my memories and for the one don’t don’t ting all time the keyboard hard when moving there Avatar in a virtual world .
Mostly the one like SL user is by pressing the Arrow Buttons and some ALT and String combinations.
Let tray forget this kind of stone age navigation as visual worlds are very rich for explorer it need a richer navigation too.
Here my 3 ways i want to introduce as i don’t find any comments or Blogs about .Here i will use as a example only a Second Life Avatar.

1.Navigation with our PlayStation Gamepad (wireless)

Japan video as its soo easy to setup

Some have probably a Game pad from the PlayStation 2 Xbox or simliar no need to buy a new Space navigator or any more stuff .The Navigator have a cable too my Playstation Gamepad is wire less and even if you buy a new one its about 25.-Euro so a real cheep Navy.
you woud need some simple extra soft to map the Gamepad with the Short cuts of your Sl Client.The Gamepad Mapper i used is free and will work with most or even all Software and any kind of Gamepad .
JoytoKey 3.7.4 from Ryo Ohkubo Download is free and really multifunktional even multiple Gamepads can be connected and run .I will add a my Settings for Download here too if i find this Download widget i see ones at Barons Blog.

2. Navigate Second Life Avatars with your voice only
The Video is a Combat simulation witch i don’t like but the tool is great. This is probably one of the most funny and easy ways to navigate through a 3D environment .Just give you Avatar a voice command to fly instant or teleport or get a view to a profile.
This method include a free Software from a Argentinian Developer
called PiLfIuS! ver 0.9 http://www.pilfius.com.ar ,a tung breaker don’t ask me how too spell it .
He invented this for Flight Combat simulators manly but it works just fantastic with Virtual words with voice too.
What it doss it maps your voice commands to keystrokes .It works with the Microsoft Speech engine .As I am very lazy my training with the Speech engine was limited to 30 minutes and he understand every command i give him.That’s the Sofa surfer version ,you can navigate through every virtual world with your voice only .
If you add your Bluetooth headset from your mobile to your Laptop or PC you even don’t have too sit in front of a PC to navigate threw virtual worlds like a charm.

The Logitech Method -Fly Air MX
My present for Christmas and the only expensive version .But most fun too. I buy a MX Air Maus from Logitech i believe in it for a long time .With that mouse you don’t have too sit on a table to place your mouse. IT fly like your Avatar too .So same same :-) just move the mouse in any direction and the mouse will follow .About 4 additional programmable buttons you can map some SL functions in if you wish. This thing is just fine for the EGO mode or first person view when you move the mouse the Avatar move his head .very sensitive and precise.And my suggestion if you have a shirt with a pocket in front (man only sorry) just put it in if you move your body slight right or left the Avatar will look in the same direction.
Only minus it cost about 140.-Euro but as long you can use it for any Business presentation or other game applications too i think its worth. And the Design is lovely too by the way …

Pleas simple warning don’t use this avatar navis at your Second life land .You can make mistakes and delete some of your stuff by foult. Go to the sandbox or to a Betagrid to test it !
If you know any other Avatar remote navigation methode please drope a litel note.

Virtuell Mobile mit IPhone und Second life unterwegs

Es wird Zeit über alternativen nachzudenken .Die Entwicklung des von Linden Lab entwickelten Second life Clients ist ins stocken geraten.
Der schon längst überfällige post zu alternativen Clients für das SL Grid möchte ich hier eine kleine Übersicht posten.Seit über einem Jahr beobachte ich die Client Entwickler und da hat sich unheimlich viel getan .

Hier fange ich ohne Wertung bei einem Exoten an .Der die Entwickler-in kann man getrost als Scripty Kid bezeichnen .Da sein alter bei Start der programmierung gerade mahl 16 Jahre alt war (heute 18).Die Rede ist vom Webbasierenden Client AjaxLive mit welchem man sich in SL einlogen kann ohne den Schwergewichtigen Graphischen Client zu benutzen .Als ich den Client vor einem Jahr auf meinem HTC Tuch testete musst ich feststellen das es nicht ging .
Der Entwickler hatte damals angesprochen noch keine Interesse gezeigt die Sache Richtung Mobile kompatibilität weiter zu entwickeln.

Heute wurde ich durch eine Besucherin aus China Vint Falken aufmerksam auf eine sehr interessante Umfrage über Obama versus McCain? vor den Wahlen wie die Spieler der online Spiels Word of warcraft die 2 Kandidaten Einschätzen in Ihrer Welt.
Wie aussage kräftig das Ergebnis ist erkennt man am Ausgang der Wahl .
Obama wahr der klare Gewinner mit 62% der Stimmen .Nicht allzu weit entfernt ,die Umfrage wurde am 29. Oktober 2008 durchgeführt.Ein Teil der Obama Online Internet strategie ? zumindest fast 400.000 leute haben sie gesehn und über 2000 Bewertungen abgegeben .
Hat jemand die Umfrage in Second life gemacht ? Soweit mir bekannt ist gibt es ein Draxtor Report über Obama. Mein alter Freund seit der virtuellen Burma Demo am Grid.

Wirtschaftskrise erreicht auch Virtuelle Welten

Vor 3 tagen Kündigte Lidden LAb eine Massive Preiserhöhung für de light Sims an .Eine Preiserhöhung von fast 65% für alle Open Sim Simulatoren. Liden lab begründet die Erhöhung mit der übermäßigen Nutzung und Belastung ihrer Server durch die fast 2 Mal so hoch in anspruch genomenen Light sims .
Die preise für ein light Sim waren bei 75$ (ca 50€) Miete pro Monat und steigen auf 165 $. Durch diesen unklugen Schachzug wandten Sich unzählige Einwohner der Virtuellen Welt Second life mit protesten und Avatar verbrennungen als visuelles Zeichen gegen die Politik Linden labs .
Auch Computerfirmen Finanzieren mit Krediten ,Ihr infrastruktur wenn das eine Simulation ist ist das keine Übung dann dürfen wir uns auch in Europa auf ähnliche Preiserhöhungen gefasst machen in realen leben.
Die Erhöhung wird mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit eine weitere Abwanderung Richtung OPEN SIM bedeuten welche zwar noch im beta Stadium sich befindet doch eine weiterentwicklung des Open Source Software von second life und der Lybs comunity darstellt .Einer der communities der besten Software Architekten weltweit die Sich zur Aufgabe gestellt hat ein Dezentralisiertes Grid zu schaffen .

Auch wir haben seit ca . 8 Monaten $ Open Sim Simulatoren im Test betrieb und nach dem Verlust des Riesenrades (Total Löschung ) unseren content gesichert und teilweise bereits auf den Open sim Simulatoren aufgebaut .
Was wie bereits vorhersehbar eine natürliche weiter Entwicklung der virtuellen Welten in eine offene für jeden zugängliche Platform macht so wie Internet auch von einer UNI Intranet Anwendung zu einer freien Platform wurde. Was nie verloren geht ist die Erfahrung .Seit ca 2 Monaten beteilige ich mich am Cross Teleportations System mit den GRidonauten welches von IBM erstmals erfolgreich getestet wurde und einem kleinen Kreis zur weiterentwicklung und Beta Test zur verfügung steht .
CRoss Telexports sind Teleports von verschiedenen Grids wie zb einem Linden LAb Server mit SL Software auf eine Open SIm oder vielleicht bald auf ein IBM Virtuelle oder eine Sony oder MYspace Virtuellen Welt.
